From the sublime to the ridiculous yesterday evening…

Started off at the Kelso Music Makers’ Group, where the varied programme included everything from Grieg to O’Carolan, clarsach to tin whistle, English pastoral songs to a German nursery rhyme. Mark played lead guitar with le Trio du Hot Club de Berwick (with Fred on fiddle and Graham on rhythm guitar) and the Django swing went down a storm!

Then on to the Cobbles in Kelso where a lively ‘session’ was in progress – lots of instruments but not much music…

It’s the second time le Trio du Hot Club has played out in a week – last Friday saw its debut in Ayton at a fund-raiser for the village hall. Ideal opportunity for a test run for this little beauty!

But these pages will be about the other things we do as individuals – mostly musical, artistic and folk-related, though we may include a post or two about work on our house and garden, and life in the Borders.
